News: Driver hurt, restaurant sign damaged in St. Pete crash

ST. PETERSBURG, FL – One person went to the hospital after a two-car collision that involved property damage to a sign at a popular St. Pete eatery, reports WFLA News 8.

Police say the incident happened around 7 p.m. at El Cap Restaurant, which is located at 3500 4th St North between 35th Avenue North and 36th Avenue North.

A preliminary investigation suggests that two vehicles collided, at which point one of the cars overturned and truck the restaurant’s sign. A few other vehicles that were parked nearby were also struck.

Medics rescued one driver from the crash scene and transported the other driver to a local hospital with non-critical injuries. Both parties are expected to make a full recovery.

A full investigation of the incident is underway.
