Moped driver injured in 2-vehicle Tampa crash on SR-60

TAMPA, FL – A moped driver went to the hospital with serious injuries after a two-vehicle collision on the Tampa side of the Courtney Campbell Causeway, reports Fox 13 Tampa Bay.

Police say the incident happened sometime before 7:30 a.m. Friday morning on the eastbound side of State Road 60 in Hillsborough County.

Authorities have not yet commented on how the accident happened but say the moped driver’s injuries were life-threatening.

Officials closed the eastbound lanes of the Courtney Campbell Causeway on the Tampa side following the collision. The lanes re-opened sometime around 10:17 a.m.

A full investigation of the collision is underway.
