Man killed in 2-vehicle crash involving semi on I-4 in Tampa

TAMPA, FL – A 31-year-old man died early Tuesday morning after a semi-truck collided with his vehicle on the interstate in Tampa, reports 10 Tampa Bay.

Police say the incident happened just after 1 a.m. on the westbound side of I-4 near the exit for Hillsborough Avenue, which is just east of US-301.

The investigation indicates that a westbound 18-wheeler rear-ended a sedan on the interstate. The collision forced both vehicles to the shoulder, and the semi-truck rolled over.

Medics transported the driver of the sedan to the hospital, where he died from his injuries.

It is unclear if the truck driver sustained injuries.

A full investigation is underway.
