Ted Kane

Thomas “Ted” Kane is a trial attorney at Mickey Keenan, P.A., committed to helping injury victims secure justice and fair compensation. With nearly two decades of legal experience, he spent most of his career defending insurance companies and their insureds. Now, he applies that inside knowledge to fight for those affected by negligence. His litigation skills allow him to challenge insurers and protect clients’ rights. Ted holds an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating for legal ability and ethical standards.

Born in Washington, D.C., Ted grew up in Columbus, Ohio, before moving to Florida in high school. He graduated from Tampa Catholic and earned his degree in Political Science from the University of South Florida, graduating magna cum laude. Initially, he planned to work in politics. However, coming from a family of attorneys, he realized he could make a greater impact in the legal field. He later attended Stetson University College of Law, where he served as an Editor on the Stetson Law Review and worked as a Teaching Fellow for the Research and Writing Department. During law school, he discovered a passion for trial advocacy, which set the foundation for his litigation career.

For much of his career, Ted worked at a large defense firm, where he rose to the position of Shareholder. He handled high-stakes cases involving wrongful death, traumatic brain injury, and spinal cord injury claims. As both first-chair and second-chair trial counsel, he successfully tried numerous cases to verdict. His expertise and commitment to legal excellence earned him an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell. This distinction recognizes attorneys for their legal skill, communication, and ethical standards.

Outside of work, Ted enjoys playing golf and spending time outdoors with friends and family. He finds the golf course to be the perfect place to recharge while balancing competition and relaxation.
