Vehicle vs. pedestrian crash kills 1 in St. Petersburg

ST. PETERSBURG, FL – A male pedestrian died Saturday evening when a vehicle struck him along a busy roadway in southern Pinellas County, reports The Free Press.

The incident happened around 6:40 p.m. on the northbound side of Haines Road North near 58th Avenue North, which is between 34th Street North and I-275.

The investigation thus far indicates that a 42-year-old man entered the roadway in front of the northbound vehicle. The vehicle hit the pedestrian, who died at the scene.
