Single-vehicle crash kills toddler in NW Polk Co.

POLK CITY, FL – A two-year-old child died early Wednesday morning after a single-vehicle collision along the outskirts of Polk City, reports WFLA News 8.

Police say the incident happened around 12:15 a.m. near the intersection of Deen Still Road and Old Grade Road, or State Road 557.

The details of the crash are still unclear, but authorities say that an SUV veered off of the roadway and crashed into a tree.

The wreck killed a two-year-old passenger. The condition of the driver is unknown.

A full investigation is underway to determine how the crash happened.
