Single-vehicle crash kills motorcyclist on US-41 in Tampa

TAMPA, FL – A 46-year-old man from Riverview died Saturday evening when his motorcycle crashed along the highway in central Hillsborough County, reports WFLA News 8.

Police say the incident happened at 6:25 p.m. on US Highway 41, or South Tamiami Trail, and Bloomingdale Avenue.

The investigation thus far suggests that the motorcyclist was thrown from his bike after he lost control of the vehicle. While the victim was wearing a helmet, he died from injuries sustained in the accident.

The investigation of the incident is ongoing.
