Single-vehicle crash kills motorcyclist in Sarasota Co.

SARASOTA, FL – A 36-year-old man died late Monday night after his motorcycle crashed along the highway in Sarasota, reports The Free Press.

Police say the incident happened just after 11:30 p.m. in the vicinity of North Tamiami Trail, or US-41, and 14th Street.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the northbound motorcyclist lost control of his vehicle and crashed on North Tamiami Trail near 14th Street.

The man died from injuries sustained in the accident. It is unclear at this time if he was wearing a safety helmet at the time of the collision.

A full investigation is underway to determine the cause of the wreck.
