Pedestrian struck, killed on Alt 19 in Pinellas Co.

PALM HARBOR, FL – A 44-year-old man died Saturday morning when a vehicle struck him as he walked along a busy roadway in Palm Harbor, reports WFLA News 8.

Police say the incident happened at 2:02 a.m. in the southbound travel lane of Alt 19.

The preliminary investigation suggests that the man was walking in the travel lane of Alt 19 when a southbound SUV struck him.

The pedestrian died at the scene of the collision. The driver of the SUV did not sustain injuries in the crash.

Authorities are still investigating why the victim was walking in the travel lane of the Alt 19.
