No injuries reported in Lakeland train vs. semi collision

LAKELAND, FL – Nobody was hurt when a train and an 18-wheeler collided on Sunday at a railroad crossing in western Polk County, reports WFLA News 8.

Police say the incident happened early in the morning at the crossing near the intersection of New Tampa Highway, or US-92, and Airport Road.

Authorities have not yet shared how the crash happened but have disclosed that the collision caused a diesel spill that closed the roadway during clean-up efforts.
