News: Woman killed in hit-and-run in Hillsborough Co.

TAMPA, FL – A female pedestrian died on Thursday after a car struck her along a roadway in Tampa before fleeing the scene, reports WFLA News 8.

Police say the incident happened just after 11 p.m. north of Sligh Avenue on Rowlett Park Drive, which is just northeast of Sligh Middle School.

Responders at the scene found a woman on the ground in the roadway, unresponsive. Medics transported her to a local hospital, where she died from her injuries.

Authorities arrested 63-year-old Arnold Perry in connection with the hit-and-run accident after they found a car that matched debris they found in the road at the scene of the accident. Police also found an earbud that belonged to the victim on the hood of Perry’s car.

Police have charged Perry with leaving the scene of a fatal accident.
