News: Witnesses detain hit-and-run driver after pedestrian crash in St. Pete

ST. PETERSBRUG, FL – A 51-year-old man was killed when he was hit by a vehicle in the Ponce De Leon area on Monday night.

According to a report by the Tampa Bay Times, 52-year-old Alija Boskovic stepped in front of a Ford Mustang near 34th Street N and 32nd Avenue.

Boskovic was pronounced dead at the scene. The Mustang’s driver, 27-year-old Randy Peterson Jr.,  attempted to flee but was held by a witness until police arrived.

Peterson was booked into the Pinellas County Jail on $50,000 bond.
