News: SUV strikes, kills pedestrian in Pinellas Co.

SEMINOLE, FL – A 60-year-old woman died after being hit by a vehicle while attempting to cross a busy roadway in Seminole on Sunday night, reports Tampa Bay Newspapers.

Police say the incident happened around 9:05 p.m. near the intersection of Seminole Boulevard and Orange Blossom Lane.

An initial investigation revealed that the pedestrian did not use a crosswalk when she attempted to cross Seminole Boulevard from east to west. The front passenger side of a northbound Ford Escape SUV struck the pedestrian in the intersection.

The victim, identified as Delia Manjarrez, died at the scene of the accident.

The driver of the SUV, identified as 34-year-old Candice Burdyck, did not sustain injuries in the crash.

A full investigation of the incident is underway.
