News: SUV overturns on CR-209 in Oxford, killing 2

OXFORD, FL – A 21-year-old man and his 32-year-old passenger died on Sunday in a single-vehicle accident in Sumter County, Fox 35 reports.

Police say a Summerfield man was travelling north on CR-209 just before 3:30 a.m. when his SUV veered onto the shoulder. The SUV then struck a mailbox when the driver attempted to steer back onto the main road. The force of the collision caused the vehicle to overturn, at which point the driver and his passenger were ejected.

Both occupants of the SUV died at the scene of the accident. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, they were not wearing seatbelts.
