News: Single-vehicle Polk Co. crash kills SUV driver

LAKELAND, FL – A 25-year-old man from Brandon died after his vehicle crashed along a roadway in Lakeland early Monday morning, reports 10 Tampa Bay.

Police say the incident happened around 12:30 a.m. near the intersection of Swindell Road and County Line Road, which is just north of I-4.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a northbound SUV driver sped through a stop sign at the intersection, veered west off of Swindell Road, and collided with a tree.

Response crews attempted life-saving measures, but the man died at the scene of the accident.

The crash remains under investigation with local police.
