News: Single-vehicle crash in St. Pete kills motorcyclist

ST. PETERSBURG, FL – The victim of a Saturday morning motorcycle crash in St. Petersburg died on Sunday from injuries sustained in the accident, reports 10 Tampa Bay.

Police say the incident happened around 9:25 a.m. on the eastbound side of Gandy Boulevard, or FL-600.

The preliminary investigation suggests that for unknown reasons, the eastbound motorcyclist collided with a guide rail. The force of the collision threw him from his bike, at which point medics transported him to a local hospital with critical injuries.

The victim, identified as 27-year-old Brendon Courson, died of his injuries the next day.

Authorities believe speed may have been a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
