News: Pinellas County Hit-and-Run Crash Kills Scooter Driver

PETERSBURG, FL – An unnamed person died in St. Petersburg on Sunday when a car struck an electric scooter on 34th Street Northand fled the scene, reports the Tampa Bay Times.

Florida Highway Patrol says the accident happened just before 3 a.m. at the intersection with 35th Avenue North. A vehicle headed north on 34th Street collided with the electric scooter as it travelled west in the median lane on 35th Avenue North.

The scooter driver died at the scene of the accident.

Police are looking for a dark-colored Toyota sedan in connection with the incident, which remains under investigation.
