News: Pedestrian struck, killed in south St. Petersburg

PETERSBURG, FL – A man died Sunday night when a car struck him as he attempted to cross a major roadway by foot in south Pinellas County, reports Tampa Free Press.

Police say the accident happened around 9:10 p.m. in the 4600 block of 34th Street South. A pedestrian attempted to cross 34th Street South when a southbound 2018 Chrysler Pacifica hit him in the curb lane.

The pedestrian died after transport to an area hospital.

No other injuries have been reported at this time. The incident remains under investigation.
