SEMINOLE, FL – A 55-year-old man died, and two other people were hospitalized Tuesday after a series of collisions involving six vehicles in Seminole, reports 10 Tampa Bay.
Police say the incident happened around 2:25 p.m. near the intersection of 102nd Avenue and 97th Street, which is just east of Lake Seminole.
Preliminary reports suggest that an eastbound SUV rear-ended another SUV on 102nd Avenue. Additional vehicles then collided in a chain-reaction.
The driver of the first SUV died at the scene of the accident.
Medics transported two other people to the hospital with minor injuries. These include a 46-year-old woman from Seminole and a 75-year-old man from Largo.
The incident remains under investigation.
