LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL – A 20-year-old motorcyclist died, and another person sustained serious injuries when three vehicles collided Wednesday in Lakewood Ranch.
WWSB 7 reports that the incident happened just before 11 a.m. south of State Road 64 on Lakewood Ranch Boulevard.
The investigation thus far suggests that a northbound motorcyclist entered the bike lane of Lakewood Ranch to pass another vehicle and then collided with the driver’s side of a Subaru sedan while re-entering the roadway.
The force of the collision threw the motorcyclist from his bike, and he died at the scene.
Medics transported the 83-year-old male driver of the Subaru to a local hospital with serious injuries. His 21-year-old female passenger did not sustain injuries.
The incident remains under investigation.
