News: Motorcyclist fatally struck at 34th & 38th in St. Pete

ST. PETERSBURG, FL – A motorcyclist was fatally struck by an SUV at an intersection northwest of downtown St. Petersburg on Friday night.

The Tampa Bay Times reports that a man on a black Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling east on 38th Avenue N when a westbound red Chevrolet Traverse turned in front of him near 34th Street N, causing the motorcyclist to hit the front passenger side of the Traverse.

Emergency responders rushed the man to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg, where he died.

His name had not been released as of Saturday, pending notification of family.

The Traverse’s driver was not injured and is cooperating with ongoing investigations.
