News: Man killed in single-vehicle SW Hillsborough Co. crash

RUSKIN, FL – A 53-year-old man died Monday evening after his vehicle crashed and overturned along a highway in Ruskin, The Free Press reports.

Police say the incident happened around 5:10 p.m. on the northbound side of U.S.-41.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of a pickup truck lost control of the vehicle and left the roadway. The pickup truck flipped over the guardrail, at which point the driver was thrown from the vehicle.

The driver died after transport to a local hospital.

Authorities have not yet commented on what might have caused the driver to lose control of his vehicle. The crash remains under investigation, and our team will work to update the blog if additional details become available.
