Police say the crash happened just before 12:20 p.m. near Flanders Station Drive.

Bryant and his wife were stopped for construction in their white Volkswagen SUV on the southbound side of SR-33. A southbound 2011 Ford F-150 pickup truck failed to slow down and crashed into the back of the SUV.

59-year-old Bryant died after transport to a local hospital. His wife, Donna Bryant, sustained minor injuries in the crash.

The 21-year-old driver of the pickup truck was not hurt in the accident. Police are not sure why the driver failed to stop for slowed traffic.
