TAMPA, FL – An intoxicated driver hit and seriously wounded a motorcyclist in uptown Tampa Saturday before police found her at a nearby CVS, 10 Tampa Bay reports.
Police say the crash happened before 3:59 a.m. when a driver veered from northbound 30th St N into oncoming traffic on the southbound side of the road. The driver then collided with a motorcycle and attempted to flee the scene.
Authorities arrested the driver at a CVS on Fowler Avenue North and identified her as Hannah Peters. They found a 5-year-old passenger in Peters’ car.
The motorcyclist sustained serious injuries but is expected to survive the accident.
Peters faces a few charges, including DUI with serious bodily injury, child neglect, and leaving the scene of a traffic crash with injury.
The incident remains under investigation.
