News: Driver flees scene of fatal pedestrian crash in Ellenton
ELLENTON, FL – A 30-year-old man from Coral Springs died on Friday morning when he was hit by two vehicles on U.S. 301 in west Manatee County, WFLA reports.
Police say the accident happened just after 1 a.m. near 60th Avenue East when the man attempted to cross U.S. 301 on foot and was hit by vehicle. After the first collision, the man was hit a second time by an SUV. The first vehicle involved in the incident fled the scene.
The pedestrian died at an area hospital from injuries sustained in the crash.
Police continue to investigate the incident and ask that anyone with information contact the Florida Highway Patrol.
