News: Deputy strikes woman with patrol vehicle inn St. Pete Beach

ST. PETE BEACH, FL – A Pinellas County Sheriff’s deputy struck and injured a beachgoer with his patrol vehicle on Wednesday afternoon, WIFR reports.

The unidentified 23-year-old woman was lying in the sand when she was run over by a Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Deputy Todd Brien, an eight-year veteran of the department.

Emergency responders rushed her to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries to her back and right side.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident.
