PORT CHARLOTTE, FL – A male bicyclist was hospitalized over the weekend after an SUV struck him near Cochran Boulevard in Port Charlotte, NBC2 News reports.
Police say the 59-year-old cyclist was hit from behind while attempting to turn onto Cochran.
The names of the two parties have not been released at this time. Police say the driver of the SUV was a 27-year-old man from Port Charlotte.
The bicyclist sustained serious injuries.
An investigation of the incident is ongoing.
