News: Cyclist critically injured in Pinellas Co. hit-and-run

CLEARWATER, FL – A 51-year-old bicyclist is in critical condition at Bayfront Health after a hit-and run collision on Tuesday afternoon in Clearwater, reports 10 Tampa Bay.

Police say the incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. near the intersection of Myrtle Avenue and Jones Street in the Drew Park Plaza neighborhood. Responders at the scene determined that the victim had sustained serious injuries in the crash.

Authorities released photos and began looking for a white hatchback-style vehicle, which they expected to have a missing right rear hubcap and possible damage to the hood. A community member recognized the vehicle in the photos and tipped off law enforcement.

Police arrested 75-year-old Grace Hunter on Wednesday night. She faces charges of leaving the scene of a crash involving injury and driving with a suspended license.
