News: Car strikes, kills pedestrian in Hillsborough Co.

TAMPA, FL – Police are investigating after a vehicle struck and killed a pedestrian at an intersection in Tampa on Saturday night, reports The Free Press.

The incident happened around 10:20 p.m. near the intersection of West Hillsborough Avenue and North Lois Avenue, which is west of the North Dale Mabry Highway and east of Veterans Expressway.

Authorities have not released many details regarding the circumstances of the accident except to say that the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with police.

Eastbound Hillsborough Avenue remained closed for quite some time while crews responded to the scene.

The name of the victim has not yet been released to the public, nor is it clear if the driver will face charges.
