News: Belleair officer hurt in t-bone crash with suspects

BELLEAIR, FL – A police officer went to the hospital after colliding at a Belleair intersection with a stolen vehicle carrying four teen suspects, reports 10 Tampa Bay.

Police say the crash happened Thursday afternoon at the intersection of Golf View Drive and Pineland Avenue.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the officer was responding to a report of a stolen vehicle. The driver of the stolen vehicle in question failed to heed a stop sign and collided with the police officer in the intersection.

Medics transported the police officer to a local hospital with minor injuries.

It is unclear at this time if any of the four suspects sustained injuries in the crash. Authorities say they attempted to evade police but were arrested shortly after the accident.
