BROOKSVILLE, FL – A 34-year-old motorcyclist died after colliding with a pickup truck in Brooksville last Thursday, Hernando Sun reports.
State police say the accident happened the evening of May 19th near the intersection of Mondon Hill Road and US-98.
As the biker from Brooksville travelled north on Mondon Hill Road, his motorcycle collided with a westbound pickup truck on US-98. The motorcycle then crashed into a sedan that had stopped within the inside eastbound lane of the highway.
Authorities say the initial crash occurred when the driver of the pickup truck failed to stop at a red light on US-98.
The man driving the motorcycle was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. He was taken to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries. No other injuries have been reported from the crash.
Police have not disclosed the names of the parties involved in the crash. They have shared that a 52-year-old woman from Brooksville was driving the sedan, and a 48-year-old man from Georgia was driving the pickup truck.
