Motorcyclist killed, passenger hurt in Clearwater collision

CLEARWATER, FL – A 51-year-old motorcyclist died, and his passenger suffered serious injuries when a pickup truck struck their vehicle Saturday in Clearwater, reports The Free Press.

Police say the incident happened around 9:15 p.m. at the intersection of Roosevelt Boulevard and 62nd Street North.

The investigation thus far suggests that a westbound GMC Sierra pickup truck collided with the motorcycle while making a left-hand turn from Roosevelt onto 62nd Street North.

The driver of the motorcycle died at the scene of the crash, while his 50-year-old female passenger went to the hospital with serious injuries. It is unclear if they were wearing safety helmets at the time of the collision.

A full investigation of the incident is underway.
