Motorcycle crash with ejection kills 1 in Bradenton

BRADENTON, FL – A 38-year-old motorcyclist died Saturday in a crash involving three vehicles at a busy intersection in western Manatee County, reports Fox 13 Tampa Bay.

Police say the incident happened just before 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of 3rd Avenue Northeast and Upper Manatee River Road, which is between Waterlefe Boulevard and Port Harbour Parkway.

The investigation so far indicates that the motorcyclist ran a stop sign at the intersection and collided with a northbound SUV on Upper Manatee River Road. The force of the collision threw the motorcyclist from his bike, at which point a sedan struck him in the northbound lane.

The motorcyclist died at the scene or the crash. It is unclear if he was wearing a safety helmet.

Nobody else sustained injuries in the crash.

A full investigation is underway.
