Hillsborough Co. 2-car crash kills teen on U.S. 301

THONOTOSASSA, FL – A 17-year-old boy died, and three juveniles went to the hospital after a head-on collision on the highway in Thonotosassa, reports Patch.

Police say the incident occurred at 4:47 p.m. Monday near the intersection of U.S. 301 and Williams Road, which is just south of East Fowler Avenue.

A preliminary investigation indicates that a southbound vehicle veered over the median and into the northbound lane of U.S. 301 and collided almost head-on with another car.

A 17-year-old passenger died in the crash.

Medics transported both drivers, a 15-year-old passenger, and a 1-year-old passenger to the hospital with serious injuries.

A 13-year-old passenger went to the hospital with minor injuries.

A full investigation of the incident is underway.
