HART bus strikes, kills cyclist at Nebraska and E Fern

TAMPA, FL – A 59-year-old bicyclist died Friday when a Hillsborough Area Regional Transit bus struck him at a busy intersection in Seminole Heights, reports Fox 13 Tampa Bay.

Police say the incident happened around 4:45 p.m. near the intersection of Nebraska Avenue and East Fern Street, which is just east of I-275 and north of  East Hanna Avenue.

It’s unclear how the incident happened, but authorities say the cyclist died at the scene in the southbound lanes of Nebraska Avenue.

A full investigation regarding the circumstances of the accident is underway.
