Driver hits, kills pedestrian on Hillsborough River Bridge

TAMPA, FL – A woman died Wednesday morning when a vehicle struck her as she walked along the highway on a Tampa bridge, reports 10 Tampa Bay.

Police say the incident happened just after 2 a.m. on US-41, or North Nebraska Avenue, at the Hillsborough River Bridge.

The investigation indicates that a driver struck the female pedestrian in the roadway.

Authorities have not released the identity of the victim, who died from her injuries.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene of the crash and cooperated with police. She does not face charges at this time.

A full investigation is underway.
