Cyclist dies from injuries sustained in Bradenton crash

BRADENTON, FL – A 27-year-old bicyclist died in the hospital Monday after being struck by a vehicle on the highway in Bradenton on Saturday, reports Fox 13 Tampa Bay.

Police say the incident happened around 9:17 p.m. on the northbound side of US-41, just south of 50th Plaza West.

The investigation indicates that a westbound bicyclist crossed into the northbound lanes of US-41 via 50th Plaza West, entering the path of a northbound vehicle. The vehicle struck the cyclist, who was transported to Blake Hospital with serious injuries.

The cyclist died on Monday at the hospital.

A full investigation of the incident is underway.
