Police say the incident happened around 9:15 a.m. near the intersection of Ulmerton Road and Tall Pines Drive, which is just east of Starkey Road.
The investigation thus far suggests that the cyclist may have entered the roadway in front of the SUV, which caused the crash.
The bicyclist died at the scene of the accident. Authorities have not yet released their identity, nor have they shared whether the driver of the SUV sustained injuries.
