Auto vs. pedestrian crash kills woman on 22nd St in Tampa

TAMPA, FL – A female pedestrian died early Tuesday morning when a vehicle struck her as she attempted to cross a busy Tampa Street, reports 10 Tampa Bay.

Police say the incident happened just after 4 a.m. on North 22nd Street between East Henry and East Clifton. This area is just north of East Hillsborough Avenue.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the incident. The driver of the vehicle says that the woman stepped in front of his car in an area that is not part of a designated crosswalk.
