Auto vs. pedestrian crash kills 1 on US-98 near Mann Rd.

LAKELAND, FL – A vehicle struck and killed a pedestrian with a shopping cart on the highway in Lakeland early Tuesday morning, reports The Ledger.

Police say the incident happened just before 6 a.m. on the northbound side of U.S.-98 between Mann and Marcum Roads.

The investigation indicates that the victim was pushing a shopping cart in the northbound lane of the highway when a Honda CRV hit him from behind.

Authorities identified the victim as 27-year-old Marcus Sullivan.
