3-vehicle crash kills 5 on Paul Buchman in Plant City

PLANT CITY, FL – Two children and three adults died after three vehicles collided in a wrong-way crash along the highway in Plant City Sunday night, reports WFLA News 8.

Police say the incident happened around 9:30 p.m. near the intersection of Paul S Bruchman Highway, or State Road 39, and Bruton Road.

The investigation indicates that a northbound SUV veered into the southbound lane of Paul Bruchman Highway and collided head-on with a pickup truck. A southbound 18-wheeler then collided with the pickup truck. Authorities say the headlights on the pickup truck were off at the time of the accident.

The adult male driver of the pickup truck died at the scene of the accident.

Four people from the SUV died from injuries sustained in the crash, including a 12-year-old girl, a 1-year-old girl, and the adult driver.

A full investigation is underway.
