2-vehicle street race leads to crash in Tarpon Springs

TARPON SPRINGS, FL – Police arrested two young men Thursday night after a street race involving two cars caused a crash in northern Pinellas County, reports WFLA News 8.

Police say the incident happened around 8:40 p.m. on Keller Circle, which is north of Keystone Road and southeast of the Crescent Oaks Golf Club.

The investigation indicates that one of the drivers lost control his vehicle as he tried to navigate a curve in the road, at which point he left the roadway and crashed into a fence.

Both vehicles were speeding in a 25-mile-per-hour zone.

It is unclear if either of the drivers sustained injuries.

The two men face charges of reckless driving and racing on the highway.
