1 injured in Davenport bus vs. car crash on US-27

DAVENPORT, FL – A 21-year-old woman went to the hospital Monday after her vehicle collided with a school bus in northeastern Polk County, reports The Free Press.

Police say the incident happened around 5:23 a.m. near the intersection of US-27 and Holly Hill Cutoff Road, which is just northeast of Crystal Lake.

The preliminary investigation suggests that an eastbound Polk County school bus turned left on US-27 in front of a southbound sedan. The car hit the school bus on its back left side.

The driver of the sedan sustained serious injuries in the accident, for which she went to the hospital.

The school bus was not carrying any children at the time of the collision.

A full investigation is underway.
