News: Trailer ignites, closing WB SR-60 in Clearwater

CLEARWATER, FL – The westbound lanes of the Courtney Campbell Causeway in Pinellas County closed for at least two hours on Monday after a trailer caught fire, reports 10 Tampa Bay.

Police say the incident happened just after 4 p.m. and was likely caused by a tire blow out.

A driver that was towing a 20-foot-trailer noticed that the trailer had caught fire. The driver pulled to the side of the roadway and detached the trailer from his truck.

The westbound side of the Causeway remained closed until around 7 p.m. while crews worked to clear the scene.

No injuries have been reported as a result of the fiery incident.
