News: Reserve officer involved in Brandon 2-car crash

BRANDON, FL – No injuries have been reported so far in rear-end collision caused by a Tampa Police Reserve officer in Brandon on Wednesday.

According to 10 Tampa Bay, Tampa Police Reserve officer Timothy Kent caused the crash, which occurred at Causeway Boulevard and Providence Lakes Boulevard on Wednesday afternoon.

Police say that Kent’s Hyundai SUV rear-ended a white Toyota.

Officers suspected impairment and performed a DUI investigation. Kent was arrested and suspended from the Tampa Police Reserves when police confirmed that his blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit.
