News: Pedestrian struck, killed on FL-580 in NW Tampa

TAMPA, FL – A 65-year-old man died after being struck by a vehicle while walking across Dale Mabry Highway on Wednesday night, reports Tampa Free Press.

Police say the incident happened around 9:00 p.m. just north of the intersection of FL-580, or Dale Mabry Highway, and Cortez Drive.

A southbound vehicle collided with the pedestrian as he walked westbound across FL-580. The pedestrian died at the scene of the accident.

Officials have not publicly identified the victim, nor have they named the driver of the vehicle. The incident remains under investigation with the Florida Highway Patrol.
